The Rt Rev William Arthur Holbech (14 December 1850 – 7 March 1930) was an Anglican Bishop in the first half of the 20th century.〔(Diocese of St Helena )〕 ==Biography== Born on 14 December 1850 and educated at Eton and Brasenose College, Oxford,〔“Who was Who” 1897–2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 he was ordained in 1874.〔"The Clergy List, Clerical Guide and Ecclesiastical Directory" London, Hamilton & Co 1889〕 Following a curacy at ''St Mark’s, Lakenham''〔(Church photo )〕 he emigrated to South Africa where he was a Mission Priest before promotion to be the Archdeacon of Kimberley and Rector of St Cyprian's Church (where he served through the Siege of Kimberley), then Dean of Bloemfontein.〔(University of the Witwatersrand )〕 In 1905 he became Bishop of St Helena,〔The Times, Tuesday, 1 Aug 1905; pg. 8; Issue 37774; col B ''Ecclesiastical Intelligence''〕 a post he held until his death on 7 March 1930.
